Meeting Michelle Phan in Sydney Myer

As many of you girlies know, Michelle Phan has headed down to Australia and last night Sydney. It was an incredible experience to meet Michelle in real life.

Here is the Vlog of the night, it was amazing.

My experience with Michelle Phan was absolutely magical. The first thing she said to me was *I know you from somewhere*, I felt like I was floating on clouds. she is soo beautiful and genuine in real life, and did I mention I hugged her 3 time >.< sorry Michelle if you felt weird *I was too happy*
And a lot of people said she looked very skinny, but I think she looked really healthy. She was in heals and Viet girls are naturally petit in figure. - Nancy

Here is a photo diary of the event.
We arrived at 5pm and we were rushed to line up for the photo booth with MP. Mon and Me had heaps of fun chatting away at this time.

For an opportunity to meet and photograph with Michelle, you have to buy a Lancôme set. We got the Michelle Phan set because its more meaningful and we thought she could sign it *sadly not*. But I'm really excited to try the products, they are my first Lancôme cosmetics.

Here is beautiful Mon with her set. She is soo cute.

Then we received a wrist band like this *super pretty* to show we have purchased a set and we are qualified for photos. The band is soo pretty that I didn’t want to take it off >.<

Just before Michelle arrived we saw the host getting miced up. She was wearing a very glittery dress.

When Michelle came we didn’t see much of her cause we were stuck behind a huge pillar, but we didn’t wait long till the photo session. Also during out wait, we were interviewed by a Lancôme camera person and we might be in one of the Lancôme videos *sooo excited*. We were really hyper and excited in the video, I guess our craziness was perfect for the video ^^

And finally here is our photos with Michelle. The heart she's holding is a origami heart made by me and it says *love from Nancy and Mon. 2012*

Weekend Wind down

One of the most exciting things I received this week was my Stila Kitten Eyeshadow (I've waited 2 weeks for postage *rage*), but all was worth the wait.
I really love this Champagin eyeshadow with a subtle hint of peach because it looks really gergous on the eyes. However saying that I have a few that has a similar finish to this, ie my Loreal Infailliable shadow in Hourglass Beige. So I wouldn't run out to get this if you have a decent Champaign collection already.
Staying power of this shadow is also pretty good, (8hrs +) and over a good primer this baby will not crease or smear.
The pigmentation is beautiful and I can understand why swatching this is soo addictive (its soo pretty to look at, Okay the picture is not doing it justice).

Here is a swatch on white paper (Much better).

This second item definitely is worth a mention, I receive a YSL lip Stain from a SHOP giveaway!!!! I won this, from a GIVEAWAY. Okay I'm making a big deal because I dont normally win anything and my luck is normally down the drain when it comes to giveaways.

I revieved the shade 12 and the colour payoff is phanomenal (see pic below). Application on the lips is very smooth and it dont leave the lips drying. Like all lip products, is best to apply on smooth exfoilated lips.
The staying power is also great, given you dont wipe it off (due to the glossy nature).
And the Stain can be easily removed with a WP  remover.

YSL glossy lip Stain (12)

After a few hours of application my lips did get a little dry, so I would recommend application over a lip conditioner.
Overall, I'm very impressed with product and its definitely a luxury/splurge item.
Given the chance of trying out this product, I might be interested in trying more shades like corals (I'm SOO into Coral right now).

Finally, here are some products I picked up during the weekend to try out.

I know its abit exessive to get nearly the entire range of Vitemine E range from The Body Shop, but I was thinking maybe me eekky oily T-zone was be due to lack of moisture. So I will keep you posted on what I think.

And trying out a hair oil has been on my list for a while, so I grabbed this one from Priceline which was on sale.

Benefit Snow White & the huntsman set

Benefit Snow White & the Huntsman
Just last week I received my Benefit Snow White & the Huntsman set.
I purchased my set from Ebay in which the seller added 2 extra products and took away the Mascara that was included in the set.
Here are some pics of what is included in the set and the extra things the seller put in.

Benefit Snow White & the Huntsman

As you can see I'm a sucker for packaging, the main attraction of this set was the makeup train case. It has a beautiful lilac silk like detailing on the bottom half which make it look soo elegent.

Benefit Snow White & the Huntsman

The train cash is abit small, but its definitely enough for a overnight stay or a short holiday.

I think the seller added all the paper padding to protect the products, which is a very nice touch

And most of the items came wrapped in pink rice paper. Opening this is like Christmas.

Here are all the products in its full glory.

Benefit Snow White & the Huntsman

A close up. All the products are sample size which is really handy for a tester like me. I usually use products a few times to determine whether I like them. For most products I dislike, they are usually hardly used again, which is ashame (blog sale is a good idea).
Benetint

Benefit High beam

I tried the High Beam twice now, and I LOVE it. I cant believe I have not came acrose this. This give the perfect sheen on the cheeks. When I mean perfect, I mean No shimmer particles, easily blended into skin, perfectly matches my skin and it gives a even highlight on the applied area (LOVE).
Benefit Total Moisture

The tub is too Cute. Its glass too, just like the packaging in this skincare range
Benefit Pore Pessional

Tried it once, it does give a smooth finish but didnt see a dramatic difference in pore size (Maybe I'm applying it wrong?).
Urban Decay primer potion & L'oreal Glam Shine

 Here the two extra items.

Back of box...

Side of box...

Other side of box... I really like this side cause it says "Rare Beauty" Oh so does the back of the train case.

Here is another Infailliable eyeshadow I purchased. Its the Eternal Sunshine shade. I havent tried it yet, so no opinion.

Thanks for reading!!!

Comment down below what product you would like to try in the Benefit set.

Exciting Mail

Recently I entered a blogging/vloging contest from BeautyHeaven, and to my surprised I was shortlisted. When I received the email, I had one of these moments where my heart skipped a beat (you know the usual reaction). Well they send all participants a Rimmel Mascara (shown in the middle), and all shortlisted participants a Palmolive shampoo & conditioner set and 3 rimmel eyeshadows (generous I know). Well since I recieved 3 rimmel quads and a girl really only needs 1, I'm thinking of doing a giveaway probably one on my youtube Channel and one here maybe (havent decided yet).

I purchased this hand cream because my hands are in a desert dry state and also I really love their body cream line.
I gotta say I really love this hand cream, well majorly for the Smell. Most hand creams I tried all turned me off due to their fragrant. I have a really sensitive nose, so fragrants in products is a big factor for me. I really enjoy light fresh scent with a hint of citrist, and this hand cream really hits all the bottons. I find myself smelling my hands constantly during the day and urgently reapply after each hand wash (which is a good thing!). Currently very impressed, and this might creep up in my June favs ^^

Until next time, Stay Beautiful.

Back Again!

Hey guys

Sorry I've been away for soo long. Its my bad, I've been really unmotivated to blog, but after reading Essiebutton!'s Blog I really want to get back into it.
So I'm easing my way back by showing you guys what I purchased and received today.
Biore Pore Unclogging scrub, L'Oreal waterproof makeup remover & Tony Moly Petite Bunny Gloss Bar (6)

I've ran out of two of my Fav and holy grail products (was kicking myself yesturday cause I have nothing to use and the shops were closed). I've used Biore Pore unclogging scrub for the longest time but (about 5~6 yrs), and our relationship is still going strong. It really cleans the face and yet it doesn't leave the squeaky tight feeling after. Also the beads in the scrub is gentle enough for everyday use.
And the L'Oreal waterproof makeup remover is really a recent discovery. I really love it cause its able to take my w/p makeup off easily and it doesn't leave the skin greasy (but I still cleanse before moisturizer).

Lastly I purchased the Tony Moly Petite bunny Gloss bar purely out of materialism. The packaging is cute and I heard some good feedback about it. I only tried it on once (after I got home), so cant give you a good opinion.

As you might have known I usually purchased my skincare and cosmetics at Chemist warehouse. And today like all others I purchased the two items above there, during check out I was asked whether I was friends of Chemist Warehouse, I got a little excited cause I thought it was their new VIP system. Well long story short, this is a card that gives a portion of your purchase profit to a Health Charity. Nothing too spectacular, I just hope the cost of these cards and this program won't jack up the prices in store.
Nars eyeshadow primer

Wrapping up everything, I received my Nars eye primer today. I've been having trouble with my eyeshadow creasing throughout the day and I heard this will do my oily eyelids good. So I'm giving this bad boy a try.

Well its the end of this blog, I really want to keep this up. So if I'm not back within a week, someone please kindly give me a shout in the comment section below or on my youtube.

Until next time, Stay beautiful.

$$$$$$ engagement ring = "I do"

As you're in your 20's one of the most common things to hear are your friends getting engaged. And one of the topic of interest especially for females is the cost or the size of the diamond ring.

This got me thinking, are we (girls) saying "I do" to a pricy rock or the guy.
Put your self in this situation, you've been with the same guy for a few years and everything is good and all for now. Than he proposes with a $$$$$$ ring.
I mean how can you say "no" (This does not apply to all)??? I'm pretty sure there is a scientific study somewhere proving that when a girl come in contact with shiny blingy object that has a $$$$$$ price tag if not more, some kind of hormones will release, and in turn they will say "yes, Yes, YES" (Note: Not all girls). And during this moment our mind goes into overdrive, following with the tears of joy.

So many of us girls loves these love stories because they are so romantic and dreamy, but have you thought about the future??? Sure in that instance everything is sweet and dandy, but why is the divorce rate as high as 50% (thats 1 in 2).

When I hear these stories or watch similar scenarios in movies, I think is really "Unfair". Males may not even know they are doing this, but when you hit a girl with "I wanna make you Mrs ~~~" then present a jaw dropping carbonated rock. How is the girl going to say "no". You are trapping us girls into a black hole where your the "light".

Now I know every relationship is different and I may be a little sinical here.
But I'm pretty sure there are some girls out there that agree with me and I just dont think a life time decision could be made in a split of a second with a bling. And I know some of you will say the guy will give you time to decide. However the guy has added a new element into the life time decision and thats the breath taking engagement ring.

I believe when your in the relationship and you have came to the point of deciding "Happily ever after", it should be a dual decisions. This decision should come mutually and the decision should be made after careful consideration and understanding from one and another. When the decision is made, then a ring can be purchased mutually to seal the commitment. This way both parties is able to make a more accurate decision and less sexist.

If you have any thoughts regarding this matter, please comment below.

Disclaimer: This is only my opinion and everyone is subject to their own opinion. I'm here to put in my 2 cents and I'm not in any way trying to influence others. If you agree with me, thats great. If you don't, I still respect you and it will be fantastic to hear your thoughts in the comment below.

Until next time, stay beautiful and be happy.

China 101

Hey hey guys,

Have been here for more than a week now and I’m still struggling to adjust.
Just 2 days ago I was sick and bed ridden. I was in soo much pain, I was finding it impossible to fall asleep or stay still.

But its all good now!

One of the few things I learnt on my current stay is: I have no clue how to cross the road, & Car rides will scare the **** out of you.
Drivers here will squeeze, beep, take over, beep some more, create a road, reverse drive, pretty much like Bumper car but without touching each other.

I was in a few taxi rides today, and one driver stood out very much. He would beep at all vehicles in front of him to make way and beep at anyone that is likely to merge in front of him.

When your sitting in the passenger side, cars can come at you at all directions. I feel really confused because cars can pop out from anywhere, sometimes you can see vehicles coming straight at you, head on.

Each time we cross the road, I hold on to James’ hand for dear life. At times I feel like a Deer in head lights, only thing pulling me forward is James’ hands.

James should be getting his stitches out soon, and I will hopefully find time to film a few videos. With all running out, hospital staying, sickness, shopping, finding time to film has been difficult.

Talk to you soon.

Love
Nancy.

Flight mode

Its been 4 yrs since my last flight to China, feels kinda exciting and nervous at the same time.

This time we managed to go to some shops in duty free, and I went bananas when I saw Victoria secret. I got a body spray from VS and a Loreal powder cause I was on the hunt for a bronzer but I guess getting a powder that is 2+ shades darker will do just fine. The price if items in duty free is definitely cheaper then the retail shops but I find its still affordable to purchased via internet.
The plane today is really packed and we didn’t get a window seat, but its good we are still sitting together. There was heaps of turbulence, and not able to see what’s happening out side makes the subtle vibrations all the more sensitive and worrying. I guess I’ve been watching too many plane crash documentaries.

Not sure about you guys but I miss the good old days when you get freebies on the plane. You know, the little cute cosmetic bag with a sleeping mask, tooth brush, tooth paste and if your really lucky a comb. And I remember when I first flied to Australia (we needed to change flights), the kids on board get a little cute back pack with coloring sheets, crayons and some kinda of little toy. My fav was a back pack in the shape of a little boy with its head as the opening. Ahhh, the good old days.
We’ve been on this flight for about 6 hours and it really goes to show boredom kicks in fast when there is no internet. I have eaten, slept, turned my phone on and off, been to the bathroom twice and read my book. I wanted to make a video but the engine sound is really loud and there are a lot of people walking about. On the upside, we are sitting next to our friends who are getting married over seas (Congrats guys).
James is now really bored that he is counting the hours we have left on the plane (ahh Tubulance again >.<) and twiddling this thumbs.
I’m actually writing this on words so I can post is when I get home (yay internet).

I will log off now and try to entertain James. And I’m hungry again, the girl next to me is eating an egg, how did she bring that on board????

Its now my 1st day here, omg the 13hr plane ride nearly killed me. By the 11th hour I was dying slowly inside and keeping my body up straight was a struggle. The interesting thing is our luggage didn’t get to our final destination and now I’m still wearing my dirty set of cloths, yes including my undergarments. And don’t get me started on my skin, it looked soo bad last night that you can literally hear my pores screaming for hydration and the feeling of newborn pimples.
I guess today is better, cause I had a 6hr sleep and also done a facial in the morning. However I still miss and NEED my luggage, my precious cosmetics and my fresh set of cloths.
Travelling with never feel as comfortable as being home, there is an old Chinese saying “Gold house, Silver house, nothing can beat my dog house”. I miss my lil YY very much, and is good to know she is in the care of my trusty sister.
I still feel a little drowsy, but when I close my eyes I still feel like I’m on the plane with the altitude and turbulence sways. Last night during sleep I can still hear the roaring of the engine, tis was not a good sleep.

Well that’s enough of my whine.
Hope all goes well with James’ operation.

L'Oreal Infalliable eyeshadow in Sahara Treasure

L'Oreal Infalliable eyeshadow Sahara Treasure
I have discovered this new shade from the L'Oreal Infallible La Couleur line. I first heard about this from Fluer De Force's monthly favs and was very curious about this shade because I'm on a hunt for a gold shadow that doesn't way my eyes down or age my appearance. This shade was picked up from Target which is the only place I found it at, and I believe they have more of the new shades from this range such as Goldmine.
L'Oreal Infalliable eyeshadow in Sahara Treasure
I have been loving this shade as an all over lid color, and its a perfect gold for me because it compliment my skin-tone really well and it doesn't way down my eyes. This shade is more on the subtle side, but it gives a beautiful metallic sheen under light.
L'Oreal Infalliable eyeshadow in Sahara Treasure
From reading reviews, the metallic shades from the L'Oreal Infallible range gives the best pigmentation and bang for your buck.
I'm very interested in getting Amber Rush and Bronzed Taupe, but I gotta wait after my trip. Currently I have about 5 shades from this range, and this definitely my mostly favorite shimmer based eye-shadows.
Comment down below your recommendations ^^

PurMinerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral make up

PurMinerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral make up Porcelain
This product claims to be your concealer, pressed mineral makeup, finishing powder and SPF, when a product claim so much it can make the mistake of not doing any of the claims well.
I will be reviewing this product as a whole and judging this product in terms of how minerals products should perform.
I was intrigued by this product because it looked really great on Michelle Phan's videos and also its super easy to apply.
PurMinerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral make up Porcelain
Packaging of the product is really simple and I like the fact there is a mirror in the bottom compartment.
PurMinerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral make up
The product is not easily swatched by finger because its best applied with a dense brush (the Chisel brush according to the instructions), I use the Sigma F82 or F84.
PurMinerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral make up Porcelain
When applied on the hand as you can see its a really light coverage and you can definitely see the smooth areas at where I applied it. This product will be great for those who want a even complexion or an all over radiant light coverage, definitely not for those who want full coverage.
It does definitely has the ability of pressed mineral makeup, finishing powder and SPF, but you still need a concealer for areas of undesired pigmentation.
PurMinerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral make up Porcelain swatch
With the SPF of 15 it does give a white caste in flash.
PurMinerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral make up Porcelain swatch with flash
Pros:
  • Light weight coverage
  • Has SPF, great for outdoors
  • gives an overall glow to complexion
  • oil control
  • don't accentuate pores or fine lines
  • easy to apply
Cons:
  • not very long lasting (~4hours)
  • Packaging is kind of bulky given that I don't use the sponge applicator
  • still cant replace a concealer
To sum it up, I really enjoy this product for on-the-go fast applications because its easy and fast to apply and you cant really go wrong with it. Also I love the subtle glow that it adds to the complexion, its really a great product for hot summer days where you just want to feel light and fresh.

Until next time, bye.

Love
Nancy
